Tema MCE Ebi Bright accuses Tema Central MP Charles Forson of avoiding Assembly collaboration, duplicating development projects, and physically assaulting her driver.
Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, Ebi Bright, has openly expressed her deep frustration over what she describes as a total lack of engagement from the Member of Parliament for Tema Central, Charles Forson, since she assumed office.
Speaking on Monday, October 5, 2026, Ms. Bright revealed that despite several attempts to establish a working relationship, the lawmaker has repeatedly refused to interact with her office or the Tema Metropolitan Assembly.
"To be honest, the MP has been resolute in not engaging me or the Assembly since I came into office," Ms. Bright stated during the briefing.
She emphasized that this persistent breakdown in communication is severely hindering local governance, as several critical municipal issues require joint discussions to align developmental priorities.
"Some of the issues that have reached my table have required a discussion because, unfortunately, we're not concerted in what we're doing," she explained.
According to the MCE, this lack of coordination has led to wasteful project duplications across the municipality.
She noted that individual projects are being carried out independently despite already being captured within the Assembly's official annual action plans.
Ms. Bright pointed out that proper alignment is especially critical for initiatives executed on government reserves and open community spaces, where statutory stakeholder consultations are legally required before construction begins.
She disclosed that she had even sought intervention from parliamentary leaders and senior political figures to help mediate and open lines of dialogue with the MP.
"I have made, with the support of other individuals, including some leadership in Parliament, attempts to approach him," she revealed.
Taking the allegations a step further, Ms. Bright claimed that an attempt to engage the MP on municipal development issues escalated into a physical altercation, alleging that Mr. Forson physically assaulted her driver.
