Prominent New Patriotic Party (NPP) member Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has paid a glowing birthday tribute to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, praising his unblemished character across nearly two decades of close partnership.
Marking Dr. Bawumia's 63rd birthday on Wednesday, October 7, Otchere-Darko described the 2028 NPP presidential candidate as a loyal, humble, and deeply patriotic leader.
In a emotional public statement, the political strategist reflected on their long-standing relationship and shared history within the party leadership fold.
“Since you welcomed Ken, Joe and me into your Kanda home nearly 20 years ago, I have come to know a man of remarkable character. I have never seen you angry, heard you insult anyone or known you to be touched by scandal,” Otchere-Darko stated in his tribute.
“Loyal, patriotic and humble, you carry a quiet confidence in yourself and a profound belief in what Ghanaians can achieve,” he added.
Otchere-Darko expressed strong faith in Dr. Bawumia’s visionary leadership capabilities, commending his calm temperament when handling difficult national decisions.
“You have the dignity to lead, the temperament to make difficult decisions and the vision to recognise opportunities where others see impossibilities,” he declared.
Highlighting the rapid global shift toward artificial intelligence and modern technological innovation, Otchere-Darko emphasized the need for forward-looking national governance.
“As AI reshapes our world, Ghana needs leadership that understands the future and can help our young people turn anxiety into ambition and ambition into opportunity and prosperity,” he noted.
He concluded his tribute with prayers for Dr. Bawumia's health, wisdom, and strength as he prepares to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.
