Rev Owusu-Bempah begs NPP MP for forgiveness

Glorious Word Power Ministries founder Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah has apologized to Effiduase/Asokore MP Dr. Nana Ayew Afriye following a high-stakes lawsuit.

Founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah, has publicly apologized to Member of Parliament for Effiduase/Asokore, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriye.

The apology was delivered on behalf of the senior pastor by junior minister Rev. Charles Owusu during a live church service on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

Speaking directly to church members and leadership, Rev. Charles Owusu confirmed that the senior pastor agreed to seek full forgiveness from the lawmaker.

He appealed to Dr. Ayew Afriye to forgive, drop the matter, and allow peace to prevail between both parties.

The public plea comes after the lawmaker filed a massive GH¢10 million defamation lawsuit against the pastor and church leadership at the High Court in Accra.

The legal dispute stemmed from claims made by Owusu-Bempah alleging that Dr. Ayew Afriye and other prominent politicians were plotting to organize attacks on his church.

Clarifying the situation, Rev. Charles Owusu stated that the church now recognizes Dr. Ayew Afriye is entirely innocent of those allegations.

He revealed that individuals who originally planned to cause chaos had abandoned their intentions, and the lawmaker's name was wrongfully dragged into the plot.

"What you said about our senior pastor, we forgive," Rev. Charles Owusu stated during his address to the congregation.

"So, you also, please, let us withdraw the court issue because your name, which was mentioned as part of the plotters to cause chaos in the church, is not true," he added.

The church leadership expressed hope that the public retraction and apology will encourage the Effiduase/Asokore legislator to officially withdraw the court action.
