Manhyia South MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah has challenged prosecutors to prove allegations against him in court following his GH¢10 million bail.
Following his high-profile arrest and release on a GH¢10 million bail, Manhyia South Member of Parliament, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has launched a fierce defense against ongoing criminal proceedings. Breaking his silence, the lawmaker openly challenged state prosecutors to prove in court that the allegations leveled against him constitute actual criminal conduct warranting a conviction.
Describing the case as a political witch-hunt, Nana Baffour Awuah insisted that no wrongdoing could ever be established against him. He urged investigators to present their case in open court rather than relying on untested claims and public commentary in the media. His comments follow his recent detention and interrogation by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) regarding alleged financial offenses, money laundering, and tax-related charges linked to SIC Life Savings and Loans.
Thanking his supporters and legal team, the MP stated that he remains in strong spirits and expressed deep gratitude to Ghanaians who have seen through what he described as political propaganda. He pledged that the legal battle would not deter him from serving his constituents or fulfilling his parliamentary obligations. Nana Baffour Awuah specifically acknowledged NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for personally visiting his mother, while also thanking parliamentary leaders and colleagues for standing firmly by him.
With the High Court instructing him to cooperate with ongoing EOCO investigations, the MP is scheduled to reappear in court on October 26 and November 2, 2026. Despite the looming legal hearings, Nana Baffour Awuah reassured his constituency of his unwavering commitment, asserting that "no dirt can stick" on him as the court process unfolds.
