John Boadu drops message to party after victory

Newly elected NPP National Chairman John Boadu has urged party leadership to focus on humility, unity, and shared responsibility.

Newly elected National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has issued a powerful call for unity and humility following his victory at the party’s National Delegates Conference in Kumasi. Addressing delegates and party members shortly after the election results were confirmed, Boadu cautioned against viewing his election as a personal or factional triumph. Instead, he framed the outcome as the beginning of a heavy, collective obligation to rebuild and strengthen party structures across the country.

Reflecting on the outcome, Boadu emphasized that leadership demands service rather than celebration. "Today is not a day of victory but a day of responsibility and great unity," he declared, urging party faithful to shift their focus immediately to long-term organizational goals. He noted that the mandate handed to the new executive team carries immense expectations from grassroots members who want to see a cohesive, well-structured party capable of navigating upcoming political challenges.

Boadu stressed that the newly elected executive body must adopt a leadership style that prioritizes overall party success over individual political ambitions. He highlighted the critical need to bridge internal divides created during the fiercely contested national executive elections. Reconnecting with local branch executives and re-energizing the party base, he argued, will require active collaboration, open communication, and absolute cooperation among all members.

The newly elected chairman will lead the party alongside General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua, three vice chairmen, and other national officers. By centering his acceptance address on humility and reconciliation, Boadu signaled a clear transition away from campaign rivalries, setting a serious tone for the party's new administrative chapter as it prepares for future electoral contests.
