From auto mechanic to NPP first vice chairman: Kojo Bamba pledges voice for youth

Newly elected NPP First Vice Chairman Kojo Bamba pledges to be a direct voice for the youth following his historic victory at the party's National Delegates Conference.

Newly elected First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Fosu Boadu, widely known as Kojo Bamba, has pledged to use his newly acquired national platform to fiercely champion the hopes and aspirations of young people across the country.

Mr. Boadu secured an impressive 3,116 votes to top the competitive contest for three Vice Chairmanship positions among a crowded field of 13 candidates during the party's National Delegates Conference held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3.

The decisive victory marks a remarkable rise through the political ranks for the former auto mechanic. He previously gained national prominence as the leader of Delta Force, a pro-NPP security group that operated heavily in the Ashanti Region following the party's electoral triumph in 2016.

Taking to Facebook shortly after his landmark victory, the newly elected party executive expressed immense gratitude to delegates while outlining his primary focus for his term in office. "I do not see myself as better than anyone else. I see myself as a voice for the youth, a representative of their hopes, dreams and aspirations," Boadu wrote.

He stressed that his personal political ambition goes far beyond individual recognition, focusing instead on creating tangible opportunities to ensure the next generation receives a fair chance to succeed.

Addressing the broader political climate, Mr. Boadu emphasized that securing a victory for the NPP in the upcoming 2028 general elections remains essential to expanding critical economic and social programs targeted at young Ghanaians.

His election brings a notable grassroots perspective to the NPP’s national executive leadership. Reflecting on his journey from auto mechanics and security organizing during periods of intense political tension—including opposing regional security appointments—Boadu reaffirmed his commitment to unifying party ranks and delivering victory for the youth.
