Tullow Oil announces Jubilee and TEN crude is sold directly to local refineries

Tullow Oil has officially commenced selling crude oil from the Jubilee and TEN fields to local refineries in Ghana.

Tullow Oil has officially begun selling crude produced from its Jubilee, Tweneboa, Enyenra, and Ntomme (TEN) offshore fields directly to Ghanaian refineries.

The major commercial milestone aims to strengthen domestic refining capacity and bridge the gap between upstream oil production and the local petroleum market.

Tullow Chief Financial Officer Richard Miller confirmed the landmark development during a virtual presentation to investors covering the company's half-year financial results.

Miller disclosed that the first local crude cargo was successfully sold on purely commercial terms earlier this year to the Sentuo Oil Refinery.

He described the domestic crude sales as a historic breakthrough for Ghana’s energy sector after years of exporting raw production abroad.

"This is a fantastic achievement looking at what has happened in Ghana's oil sector over the years," Miller stated during the investor conference.

He praised government efforts to expand local refining operations, highlighting Sentuo Oil Refinery's emerging role as a major buyer of indigenous crude.

Following improved field performance, Tullow raised its 2026 total lifting projections to 14 cargoes—comprising 11 from Jubilee and three from the TEN fields.

The revised outlook represents an increase of two additional Jubilee cargoes compared to initial company targets set in November 2025.

Energy analysts note that selling domestic crude locally will significantly optimize supply chains, reduce import dependencies, and boost Ghana's downstream petroleum security.
